The show is pretty good but still not excellent, In my opinion it's main problem is that it is distracted from the main story line with non important stories, So I hope they focus on the main line in the upcoming episodes. Now I have to talk about Bryan Cranston, one of my top favorite actors, he just nailed it in this character but I hoped it was written more evil and sadistic but it's pretty ordinary in my opinion. I enjoyed the scenes between Cranston & Giovanni Ribisi a lot and I really need more of it. Not bad and I hope for more and more to be a show that deserves Bryan Cranston. My rating is 8.5/10. It isn't just a matter of concluding his epic, triumphant three-part film of J.R.R. Tolkien's landmark trilogy. Nor is it just about upping the ante with ever more massive battle sequences until good finally or at least provisionally --overcomes evil. It's a matter of resolution, of lives finally allowed to embark on paths heroically earned. And something more. When the Dark Towers of the evil wizard Sauron have finally crumbled, and the corrupting Ring has been cast into the fires of Mount Doom, out of reach for the foreseeable future, the beginning of the rule of Man over Middle-earth is overshadowed by the departure of Gandalf, Frodo and the Elves. A certain melancholy pervades that ending, making it a not altogether happy one. It has to do with the removal from an ancient world of an even more ancient magic. It's in keeping with the conservatism of that lifelong classicist and professor of Middle English, Tolkien, with his love of myth, especially of the ancient Nordic kind. His belief in myth's power to connect us to eternal truths and spirituality is what gives Lord of the Rings its weight and heft, even more than his ability to root his high-flying fantasy in the humanity of salt-of-the-earth types as well as heroic icons, and the particulars of human behavior, including idealism. The surprise is that in an age even more given to modernism than the one Tolkien decried, Jackson has been able to connect with the same deep sources that Tolkien has, taking the book apart and reconstituting it according to the laws of film, some of which Jackson wrote along the way, and some of which he certainly expanded. Anyone can tell you to see the nearly eleven hours of Lord of the Rings on as big a screen as you can. ![]() Size and scale matter here. But breadth and depth matter even more. These qualities have been underrated amid the waves of praise for Jackson's ability to overcome the daunting logistical difficulties of making the film with hordes of live bodies and even more pixels of computer enhancements superimposed upon the spectacularly primal and craggy landscapes of Jackson's native New Zealand an under-credited star of the film. Not since fellow New Zealander Vincent Ward's Vigil (1984) have those otherworldly mountains and gorges and deserts been so arrestingly deployed, to say nothing of being overlaid with gothic, medieval and renaissance visuals that suggest a collision between Breughel, Bosch and Leonardo. ![]() The pilgramage of 'Fellowship of the Ring' is reaching its end, the decisive battle for Middle-earth begins! For instance, why? (Answer: probably because a Queens reunion was too much for the Eye to resist.) But the biggest question, for most, was how? On Monday night, fans got their answer—sort of. We already knew that Hayes’s character, Donna, would be killed off; we just didn’t know how she would die—or, perhaps even more crucially, how the series would handle her conspicuously sudden absence. And as it turned out, the show handled Donna’s demise with exactly as much subtlety and delicacy as one would expect from a Kevin James show. Donna is dead, but the Season 2 premiere never stated how she died; instead, it made a joke about coupons. The scene, which came right at the top of the episode, lasted for fewer than two minutes. In it, Kevin receives a flyer from Donna’s gym and is briefly overcome with grief as his daughter promises to call the gym to make sure the mistake doesn’t happen again; after all, it’s been “over a year” since Donna died. Kevin thanks her, then blurts, “But don’t throw that out; on the bottom, there’s a coupon for a kung-fu lesson.” After that, Donna doesn’t merit another mention. Unlike other actors who’ve been forced to make sudden departures from their sitcoms Hayes doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong. She hasn’t gained a “diva” reputation; no reports indicate a fraught relationship with anyone on set. Her only crime, really, seems to be that she is not Leah Remini. So, why the brusque treatment? Well, perhaps this won’t be the end of her story after all; when news of Donna’s imminent death first broke, CBS President Kelly Kahl that the reveal would “be treated with dignity and respect, and the show will move forward.” Maybe that means we’ll hear more about this as the season progresses, and Kevin processes his grief. After all, there have to be more coupons where that one came from, right? The whole thing took around 45 minutes to write. Mueller presented the resulting demo to the Disney music execs in person—“Mark’s really stood out,” remembers one of them, Chris Montan. N Mueller was paid “a whopping $1,250” for the song, he says. “And that was only if Disney used the song on the show and it actually aired. Which, fortunately, it did.” n Thirty years after DuckTales first aired, in September 1987, Disney’s reboot will premiere on Saturday, August 12—with a one-hour TV movie titled Woo-oo! Regular episodes begin airing September 23 on Disney XD. In December, Disney promoted the reboot with a video featuring the new DuckTales cast—among them Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and David Tennant—tackling the theme song. Nearly 5 million people have watched it on YouTube alone. N At last count, a search for “ DuckTales theme” on YouTube provided 362,000 results. You can listen to the DuckTales theme done a capella or with wailing power-metal vocals, as Hungarian power pop, ska-tinged rock or in the style of an 8-bit video-game chiptune track, performed by a brass band or the clarinets section of the Penn State Blue Band. There’s a R&B slow-jam rendition, and a soulful bedroom performance by a pre-fame Darren Criss, as well as the seemingly endless versions performed on solo acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, and drums, plus one done entirely in animal noises. N There’s a parodic riff on duct tape, takes by Scientifically Accurate and CollegeHumor, and at least one alarmingly N.S.F.W. Spoof, starring Webby Vanderquack and a Beagle Boy. One video, with 1.1 million views, pairs the unaltered original music with the clip for “Single Ladies.” Another video, with seven times as many views as that one, re-creates the opening sequence with actual ducklings. N In a category of its own, in 2016, Laurie Hernandez jived to the theme on Dancing with the Stars. Sep 26, 2017. On Monday's season premiere of Kevin Can Wait, the show revealed its new, Erinn Hayes-less incarnation. In the offseason, Hayes, who played Kevin Gable's (Kevin James) wife Donna in Season 1, was let go to make room for the full-time return of Leah Remini, who played Kevin's wife on The King of. (Judge Julianne Hough praised Hernandez’s performance: “You are Disney’s Beyoncé!”) And, if you visit Marie’s Crisis piano bar in Manhattan, there’s a chance you’ll find yourself in the midst of a giddy sing-along version of it, as I did recently. N Mueller is regularly astonished by the pervasiveness of his own creation. “When people find out what I do for a living, they’ll always ask if they’d know one of my songs,” he says. “Sometimes they won’t know my pop hits.” (For one, Mueller co-wrote Jennifer Paige’s 1998 hit “Crush.”) “But almost everywhere I’ve gone, people know DuckTales. The reach of it is so mind-blowing.” n “Just recently I was playing with my band at a club,” says Jeff Pescetto, the theme’s original singer. “A group of guys from England walked up and said, ‘We heard your voice and knew right away that it was the guy who sings the DuckTales theme song.’ They were so excited to meet me. I just couldn’t believe they recognized my voice.” n DuckTales aired in more than 100 countries in 25 different languages. ![]() It was the first American cartoon broadcast in the former Soviet Union after the Cold War; in Hungary, those born in the early-to-mid 80s are known as “the DuckTales generation” (Kacsamesék generáció). N Only in Korea, and only for a time, did the show have a completely different theme song: a nauseating little ditty, replete with irritating quacking noises and performed by children. N That unfortunateness aside, Mueller’s theme song was free to become a global phenomenon. And it did—albeit with modified lyrics. Roughly translated, the opening lines of the Norwegian version are “Come along meet an acquaintance. Scrooge, Donald, people and animals offer you excitement. Here, almost everything happens. Here, almost everybody lives.” The Spanish theme promises “many adventures with the bad guys and also the good ones”. The French version emphasizes Scrooge’s impressive status and wealth: “He’s the greatest boss of all the city... He’s the most powerful... He’s worth billions in gold, in dollars.” Even the “woo-hoo!” gets fine-tuned from culture to culture. It’s more of an “oh-oh!” in Finnish; the Norwegians go for “ah-ha!”; the Polish offer a frisky “yoo-oo!” n The rebooted DuckTales theme was arranged by Michael “Smidi” Smith and TJ Stafford, with former American Idol contestant Felicia Barton on lead vocals. “There was never a question as to whether we would use the original theme song in the new series,” says Jay Stutler, vice president of Disney Television Animation’s music division. N “It was actually a pretty surreal experience,” says Stafford. “I have such a nostalgic soft spot when it comes to DuckTales the cartoon, that to actually work on the theme song was a little confusing at times. The music made me feel the feelings I had as a child rushing home and watching the cartoon, yet I had to act like an adult and take it seriously.” n “My only note to Felicia during the production process,” says Smith, “was, ‘Sing it like you can’t believe that you are singing the DuckTales theme song.’ She did it, and absolutely killed it.” n. As a piece of music, the DuckTales theme has an extraordinary tendency, as neurologist Oliver Sacks described the phenomenon in his book Musicophilia, to “bore its way, like an earwig, into the ear or mind.” Its irresistible earworminess is so notorious that it was once the subject of an (admittedly slight) Onion joke. N Search for “ DuckTales theme” on Twitter, and you’ll find Twitter users everywhere singing the same tune, literally—declaring that the tune has gotten hopelessly stuck in their heads. In the DuckTales promotional “money pit” photo op at Disney’s D23 Expo in July, the rebooted theme played on a constant loop, with many guests in the vicinity audibly humming and singing along. N “It’s in my head as I’m answering these questions,” Stafford told me, while preparing to board a flight at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport. “It will now be stuck in my head the entire flight back to L.A.” n “Immediately after recording, the tune was basically running through my head constantly for weeks,” guitarist TJ Hill says. “Ever since, this tune has been stuck in my head at least a few times per week. If it isn’t me humming it, my wife will spontaneously sing a line from it and bring it back. I guess you could say the theme has pitched a tent in our house. And I’m 100 percent O.K. With that.” n Psychological studies tell us that the more often we hear a song, the more likely we are to enjoy it. Nostalgia plays a part too. For many, the DuckTales theme is inextricably tied up with happy, potent memories of childhood, of after-school television-watching and put-off homework. N But the DuckTales theme also happens to be a superb piece of music. It’s not only a high point of an underrated musical form, but an exquisite miniature pop classic in its own right. N It begins with a bopping bass line—octave-jumping quarter notes and an eighth-note syncopation, a close relative of the attention-seizing intros of Hall & Oates’s “You Make My Dreams Come True” (1980) and Kenny Loggins’s “Footloose” (1984). N Grammy award-winning keyboardist Gregg Karukas engineered Mueller’s demo and played on the final version. At that time, he was playing in contemporary instrumental bands around town, including with a young Kenny G in a group called The Rippingtons—the beginnings of smooth jazz. He’d also tickled the ivories for the incidental music in Cheers. Karukas had converted his garage into a studio, equipped it with a baby grand piano and a stack of synths. (Mueller and Karukas also experimented with more overtly quack-like sounds. For Pescetto, there was a time when DuckTales felt more like an albatross. “My friends and family asked me to sing it everywhere we went,” he says. “I had no idea how popular this song would become over the years. To this date, I am probably best known as the singer of the DuckTales theme song.” n Immediately afterward, Pescetto went on to sing the themes to Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers, also composed by Mueller, and Darkwing Duck. “I wasn’t very proud of that. Being a singer-songwriter, you want to be known for songs played on the radio. I didn’t want to be known as a cartoon-series singer.” n Pescetto’s feelings about the DuckTales legacy have softened over the years. Having a child of his own may have helped: “My daughter grew up watching DuckTales and she danced and sang the theme song every time it aired,” he says. “These days, I am very proud of the fact that DuckTales theme has touched so many people. I’ll forever be grateful to Mark Mueller and Disney.” n Mueller is still working as a songwriter, and still gets royalties when the show airs, anywhere in the world. It’s tempting to wonder whether, by now, he has a Scrooge McDuck-style vault of his DuckTales earnings. N “It’s not exactly like that,” he says. “It’s not a swimming pool. It could be a kiddie pool.” n Every now and then, he checks YouTube for the latest cover version. “A recent favorite of mine was a Polish guitar school with 28 kids playing it,” he says. “So cute.” (He enjoys the “Single Ladies” mashup too.) n. Trivia While the story itself is fiction, it was inspired by events that occurred at the end of Word War II in Rechnitz, Austria. On the night of 24-25 March 1945, some 200 Hungarian Jews were murdered near Rechnitz, by a group of local notables who had gathered for a party at the castle of the Countess of Batthyany, born Margit Thyssen-Bornemisza. The party and the killing were organized by Hans Joachim Oldenberg, her lover. At some point during the evening guns were handed out. The 200 Jewish laborers, residents of the manor, were hunted down and killed. Afterwards the guests returned to the castle to continue the party. After the war the massacre was covered up. Residents boycotted an official investigation; one witness was murdered, and other witnesses died under suspicious circumstances. The synopsis and the explanation of the event that this is based on are on the website already, so to reiterate them is a waste of space. I will simply say that this movie works on a lot of levels. To give too much away will spoil what is a mystery story that unfolds slowly and carefully. But in particular, it is about a very devout person whose entire emotional and religious foundation erodes as he is trying to find evidence of a great crime that took place during WWII. It also reminds us that things may not be what they seem, and that the responsibilities of giving testimony to real events may have an effect many years after they occur. This movie is wonderfully written, acted and directed. A ‘MARK’ Meditation Channeled by Jonette Crowley The day after the nightclub shooting in Orlando we had our weekly ‘MARK’ class. The channeled meditation was a profound experience in being multi-dimensional and supporting humanity from this state. It was one of the most moving processes I’ve ever felt. We left with the innate knowledge that the world too shifted toward good. I share this channeled meditation with you as an experiment. I would love to know if you too can have a transcendent experience of expansion and service simply by reading these words. ‘MARK’ said that the space that was created is magnetic and perpetual. My hope is that you too can join the breakthrough in the greater opening of the crystalline grid of consciousness that surrounds all of us. “Welcome Wonderful Ones! You have accomplished what you have accomplished because you are full of wonder. ![]() You question, you test, you observe, and you change. These are qualities that you take for granted because they are the qualities that have brought you here, but not all humans have these qualities in such wonderful measure. Dec 22, 2016. Since I was a little kid, I've wanted to help people. As I grew older, I wanted to help people all around the world. For someone born in a trailer park in small town USA, this desire seemed a little strange. What did I know about the world? But language, culture, history, and political systems fascinated me, and. There has been a tragedy, a terrorist attack in Florida. What happens when there are tragedies is that humans back away from wonderful and move into their bunkers of old beliefs, old racism, old fears. Our meditation journey is a journey of deliverance for your human brothers and sisters. It is a journey of healing for those who suffer from tragedy and terror and for those who suffer from fear and hatred.” A Meditation from ‘MARK’ “Please put your wonderful attention into the grand crystalline grid of consciousness, the wisdom that surrounds the Earth. Notice that you are spreading out in all directions as if you’re becoming the grid, as if you’re becoming that embracing cloud around the entire Earth. The qualities you feel are your own wonderfulness and the wonderfulness of all humanity, no matter how broken or afraid they are. So feel as if your heart, your love, has expanded to be as big as it needs to be; and it’s embracing collectively and individually all humans who’ve asked for help, all humans who seek higher ground. Notice that without disturbing your peacefulness you are working collectively and individually. You may sense that part of your awareness, your multi-dimensional beingness is ministering in very individual, precise ways to thousands or hundreds of thousands of people. There is a beautiful, intimate sense of sharing. You are not so much fixing people or their fears as sharing your peacefulness, sharing your wonderfulness, your light. As you hold open the place of sharing and ministering to your human family, the grid that you are opens up to those higher beings who can channel through the grid. They can channel through your compassion and your ministering to give even more amplitude, even more love to the service you are being. You are being service from yourself, and you are being channels from that which is so much beyond your scope. Notice how multidimensional you are. Some of the people who are asking for your help, asking for a step up to their next level, or asking for comfort in times of sadness or fear or tragedy— are becoming stronger to you. It’s your tribe. ![]() You may find some are drawn closer to the magnetic space you are holding. Just love them and embrace them. Again, you can’t sense them individually except you know that they are individuals. You can sense that the people are moving up in their frequency because there’s more energy released into the grid that you’re holding. Every time they let go of their lower spaces and move to these higher spaces, energy is released. Light becomes more abundant in this gridwork. Do you notice that in your service you’re not giving advice? You’re simply sharing yourself in an intimate and open way and in that way offering solace, comfort, healing. Can you feel the field getting stronger and stronger? Wonderfulness and love are being generated. What’s happening now is such a strengthening of this grid of help, ministering, and support that you will move past this time and space and helping in this particular tragedy, to the past where other wars and other tragedies and other cataclysms are somehow healed and supported also. You may have flashbacks of something else happening. Trust it as we move beyond time in this great way of service. Let there be no limits to what you can touch functioning in this way—embracing, loving, connecting through all time with the help of this grid channeling from even higher beings, healing things that have been left unhealed throughout time. You might notice that your awareness is growing. It has to grow as you take on this greater service. It gives back to you a greater you. You’re not limited by the past or the present. This healing grid opening can also move to the future to heal and support tragedies, fear, calamities that have not happened yet in your timeline. Keep stretching. You’re doing great. Obviously, so many more are doing this than just you. The space you’ve created is magnetic and beings from the past, high masters from the future and from the present, beings from other worlds are drawn into this funnel, into this vortex of support. War becomes disempowered. You might notice how many beings throughout past, present and future you’ve helped. They are now joining this grid. They’re joining this momentum. It’s so tender and so strong, so intimate. Again, the support is collective but it’s also individual. You are finding people in their darkest hour and shining light on them. Please continue doing this for many more minutes because it’s building a permanent support system. So even in the future when you forget all about this, it is permanently, exponentially growing. You’re building it to be solid and operate through time. Everything you’re giving, everything you’re transmitting is supporting you through time. It’s supporting you in all your past lives, you now, you in all your future lives. As you understand it, giving and receiving are exactly the same thing. The momentum is getting very strong. We talked about the complicated energies here. It’s very complex but this is what you’ve been trained to be—multidimensionally aware—not drawn into any particular dimension but holding all dimensions simultaneously. Open your inner ears. You might feel tones. Hear many tones as if you could hear transformation taking place. If you’re feeling a great deal of tension because so much is exploding everywhere, let your experience become softer now as if you’re relaxing into this space. It’s very much as if it’s a bottle of champagne that’s been shook up. We want it to settle down before we bring you all the way back so there’s no explosions here. There’s still the intensity but it softens as if the bubbles are settling back down. Noticing how global you are, how cosmic, how magical your support and ministering and help has been. There’s a light here in this grid. It’s as if a beautiful glaze has come over the space you’re in, over you—a beautiful, shiny glaze. It’s as if each of you is encased in diamonds. This space gets softer and easier to be with. Perhaps now you can feel the individual explosions of love, individual explosions of gratitude, of opening. This space you’ve created is intensely magnetic. It will persist throughout time; and it will continue to grow, drawing more beings to this purpose of support and healing, kindness and love. Its energy is perpetual, self generating. Please don’t try to stuff yourself back into the container you thought was you. Maintain this cosmic wonderfulness. It’s the new you, the new look. In the past you’ve done other missions of support; but as you can sense, this far exceeds in scope and in power anything that this group has been able to do before. You’re blasting open limits that had been placed around humanity before. You are awakening, and more than that you are awakeners. You are awakeners.” Thank you, wonderful ones! ‘ MARK’ channeled by Jonette Crowley, copyright 2016.
